The Tourism Volunteers Network (TVN), led by Executive Director Amb. Phil Robert, held a meeting with the Minister of Tourism to discuss the outcomes of the recently concluded “Tourism Across the Niger” project. The meeting aimed to share the investment potentials discovered, challenges faced, progress made, and feedback from communities.
Dr. Charity Akpamgbo, FCT Coordinator, expressed gratitude to the Minister for her support during the event’s flag-off and her commitment to promoting tourism through various channels. She acknowledged the ministry’s support for the tourism patronage program and reiterated the volunteers’ readiness to work with the minister’s office to achieve their goals.
The Minister commended the TVN for their contributions and efforts in uncovering untapped potentials and promoting them to the world. She promised to include volunteers in policy-making and action plan committees and introduce the network to the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Presidency. She emphasized the importance of joint efforts in enhancing their work and committed to collaborating with TVN in community engagement to ensure grassroots involvement and exposure to tourism initiatives.
Amb. Phil Robert presented the Minister with gift items from the communities he visited during his journey, which she appreciated. She assured her commitment to working with the team in their upcoming programs.
This meeting marked a significant step forward in the collaboration between the Tourism Volunteers Network and the Ministry of Tourism, fostering a stronger partnership to promote tourism development and community engagement.
